Purpose of Trip: Incident preparedness drill with agency personnel
details:
Mike McKinney, Jeff Andrews, Pam Rader and I did a briefing and patient packaging (using Rescue Randy) at the Montreal FD starting at 1830 for about 18 agency personnel. We then went to the silo and rigged the haul system. Five senior medical personnel and I went to the bottom of the ladder as did Rescue Randy. The surface group hauled up the ladder with me climbing above it.
We had intended a drill but determined that an orientation session was better suited to the situation. Several more sessions will definitely be needed. The agency participants had a favorable reaction to the training.
Vandalism:
The padlock on the silo had to be pounded open in the rain. It needs to be lubed or replaced. It should probably have something to keep the weather off of it. I recommend taking a hammer in case it can be opened and bolt cutters if not until this is solved.
