04/26/03 Finishing the Concrete Pad Forms

Here are some photos of Goska's and my work for the last couple of weekends.  There are three surface shots showing the round form and the gates and reinforcing rod in place.  The other two shots are in the mezzanine showing a little of the shoring.  There is a beam and a shoring post over the shaft.  The cave is accessable, but care must be taken as there is not a lot of area to move around in the mezzanine.  We will be pouring the concrete next Saturday May 3.  The shoring will need to remain in place until the following weekend.

The silo pad is 20 ft. in diameter and has a slight slope from the center for drainage.  The center of the pad is the center of the small hatch.  The reinforcing rod is on a 1 ft. x 1 ft. grid tiewired at each joint.  I want to thank Randy Bruegger and family for giving up part of their Saturday to help.  Thanks also goes to Dave DeBold, a long time friend of mine, for giving up his Saturday at MVOR to help out.  As always  thanks to Matt Goska for doing whatever was needed.  And we could not have accomplished any of this without our hero OZZIE.

ROCK ON !!!!!!!!!

Brian
